Charles Randall “Randy” Smith

A Life of Quiet Service, Steadfast Love, and Lasting Impact

With a heavy heart, we honor the life and legacy of Charles Randall “Randy” Smith, who passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at Cottingham Hospice House at the age of 69. Surrounded by love and held in the hearts of many, Randy leaves behind a legacy defined by compassion, humility, and unwavering devotion to those around him.

Born in Hickory, North Carolina, Randy was the cherished son of the late Charles Buddy Smith and Wilma Jean Smith Miller. From an early age, he carried with him a quiet strength and a natural gift for helping others—traits that would shape the course of his life and touch countless people along the way. Randy was a man of integrity and kindness, known for his ability to listen, to guide, and to serve without seeking recognition. Whether through his work, his friendships, or his role as a loving husband to Susan Smith, Randy embodied the values of loyalty, generosity, and grace. His presence brought comfort, his words carried wisdom, and his actions reflected a heart committed to making life better for others.

To know Randy was to know someone who gave freely of himself. He had a way of making people feel seen and valued, often offering support in quiet, meaningful ways. His legacy is not written in grand gestures, but in the everyday moments where he showed up, lent a hand, and made a difference. Though he is no longer with us in body, Randy’s spirit lives on in the lives he touched, the love he shared, and the memories that now serve as a source of comfort and inspiration. His passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, but also a legacy that will never be forgotten.

To Susan and all who loved Randy, we extend our deepest condolences. May you find peace in the knowledge that his life was a blessing, and his memory will continue to guide and uplift.

With heartfelt sympathy and enduring respect,
