With profound sadness, we share the heartbreaking news of the passing of 18-year-old Anna Kepner, who died on board the Carnival Horizon cruise ship on Friday morning, November 7, 2025. Her identity was confirmed by the Miami-Dade Medical Examiner’s Office, and her death is now under investigation by the FBI due to its occurrence at sea.
Anna was a senior at Temp Christian School in Titusville, Florida—a young woman full of promise, hope, and dreams. Her sudden and tragic death has left her family, friends, classmates, and community in deep sorrow. Though the cause of her death has not been publicly released, the circumstances surrounding it have prompted a federal investigation, with law enforcement working to uncover the details. Carnival Cruise Line, in a statement issued Monday, expressed condolences and emphasized their commitment to supporting Anna’s family during this difficult time. The ship returned to PortMiami as scheduled on Saturday, and authorities have since taken over the case.
Anna’s passing is a devastating reminder of how fragile life can be. She was just beginning her journey into adulthood, preparing to graduate and explore the world beyond her classroom.
