Honoring a Life of Courage, Compassion, and Unwavering Advocacy
With a heavy heart, we share the tragic and untimely death of Annabel Rook, age 46, a devoted charity worker and co-founder of MamaSuze, who was killed in a violent domestic-related incident at her London home on Tuesday morning, November 11, 2025. Annabel died from stab wounds shortly before a gas explosion destroyed her residence. A 44-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder, and the investigation remains ongoing.

Annabel’s death is not only a personal loss to her family and friends but a profound blow to the humanitarian community. For over two decades, she dedicated her life to helping refugee women and survivors of gender-based violence, using art as a tool for healing and empowerment. Her work with MamaSuze and Pan Intercultural Arts transformed lives, offering dignity, hope, and a voice to those often silenced by trauma and displacement. She was known for her boundless optimism and radiant energy—qualities that lifted others and inspired change. As John Martin, Artistic Director of Pan Intercultural Arts, shared, “Annabel’s energy brought a lot to the women and gave them new hope.” Her legacy is woven into the stories of countless women who found strength through her compassion and advocacy.
The circumstances of Annabel’s death are deeply disturbing and heartbreaking. That someone who fought so fiercely against domestic violence should fall victim to it is a cruel irony that demands reflection and action. Her passing reminds us of the urgent need to protect those who protect others and to continue the work she so passionately championed.
To Annabel’s loved ones, colleagues, and the women she served, we extend our deepest condolences. May her memory be a guiding light, and may her life’s work continue to inspire justice, healing, and resilience.
With solemn respect and enduring gratitude,
