Honoring a Life Cut Short and Remembering a Young Spirit Taken Too Soon

With a heavy heart, we share the devastating loss of Colin McEntire, age 20, of Springfield, Missouri, who died on the night of November 7, 2025, following a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Campbell Avenue and Buena Vista Street. Colin was riding his 2024 Honda motorcycle when a 2016 Toyota Camry, driven by Colby Wickwar, 32, turned into his path. Despite wearing a helmet and receiving emergency medical care, Colin succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. His family has been notified and now mourns the unimaginable loss of their beloved son.

Colin’s death marks the 21st fatality in Springfield’s 20th motor vehicle crash of the year—a sobering statistic that underscores the urgent need for greater awareness, responsibility, and accountability on our roads. The driver of the vehicle, Colby Wickwar, was arrested and booked into the Greene County Jail on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. The case is currently under review by the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office, and the investigation remains ongoing.
