It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Emma Jane Rennie. Emma departed this life leaving behind a legacy of love, warmth, and quiet strength that touched all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her absence is deeply felt by her family, friends, and the wider Newcastleton community.
Emma was a woman of compassion and dignity, known for her gentle nature and unwavering generosity. Whether through her involvement in local causes or her everyday kindness, she made a lasting impact on those around her. Her presence brought comfort, her words brought peace, and her spirit brought joy. A funeral service to honor Emma’s life will be held at Liddesdale Parish Church on Friday, 21st November at 11:30 a.m., followed by interment at Castleton Cemetery. All who knew and loved Emma are welcome to attend and pay their respects. Following the service, refreshments will be served at Legends, offering a space to gather, share memories, and celebrate the life of a remarkable woman.
In lieu of flowers, donations are welcome and will be shared between Newcastleton Health Centre and Newcastleton Primary School—two institutions close to Emma’s heart and reflective of her lifelong commitment to care and education.
To Emma’s family, we extend our deepest condolences. May you find comfort in the love that surrounds you and strength in the legacy she leaves behind. Emma’s memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched, and her spirit will remain a guiding light in the community she so dearly loved.
